"Our uncle, 2nd Lieutenant Joseph J. Lesczynski was a platoon leader in Company M, 116th Infantr, 29th Infantry Division. He commanded Landing Craft #77 which disembarked from the troopship, USS Charles Carroll. He survived the D-day landing but unfortunately he was killed on June 18, 1944 near St. Lo." Dr. Ronald Pack
