Anthony V. RAZMUS Sergeant 29th Infantry Division 115th Infantry Regiment 2nd Battalion Headquarters Company |
|||
Part of the 29th Division was the 115th Infantry, and assigned to the 115th was Anthony Razmus. Uncle Tony was in the 2nd Battalion, Headquarters Company. His rank was Sergeant. On D-Day the 115th was the second landing at about 9:00 to 10:00 AM... Tony made it through the landing but later in taking St. Lo he was wounded (a head injury)... I am not sure if he made it back to his unit during the fighting at Brest, but he was with his unit going through Paris and on to the Siegfried Line towns... One story I have been told is when they took the town of Julich and had to cross a river... Tony and some others were trapped and hid under water and used grass reeds to breath while the some Germans passed by... |
